Linda’s Biography

     Artist Statement:

Painting Plein Air provides an experience that words alone cannot describe. Painting a familiar place brings the excitement of seeing it through the painter’s eye and painting a non familiar place entrenches the beauty in my mind forever. As many colors that there are in the world, using them to express an emotion felt or capturing the essence of nature’s rejuvenating spirit is the challenge presented to me. Seeking to accomplish these challenges while hopefully touching and transcending the viewer to enjoy the little piece of Eden presented to them many miles away from where I stood painting.

Biography:

Born in Southwest Ohio, Linda Fisler, enjoys the challenge of painting “En Plein Aire” exploring Nature for the answers that she takes with her when she paints in her studio.

Linda worked for Procter & Gamble for twenty-six years. She held various positions ranging from consumer and products research and marketing, to project management roles involving computer software and computer system development. When the art spirit beckoned, Linda left P&G to pursue her passion of painting.

Linda currently is mentored by one of this country’s noted Impressionist painters, Kevin Macpherson and Master Artist Joe Anna Arnett. This close relationship with these mentors has lead to other opportunities which employ the skills learned at P&G. Linda works with Kevin and Joe Anna in promoting their art and has public relations responsibilities with each of them. Both employ Linda to counsel them on business related decisions.

In 2010, Kevin and Linda co-founded a company, Artist Mentors Online, LLC. This company provides business and art skills mentoring via the Internet to artists around the world. Through in-depth year long programs, artists are provided the skills to reach the next level in their art. In this capacity, Linda works as a business mentor and art consultant.

Linda is a published author, having articles published in two nationally/internationally distributed art magazines. American Artist’s Plein Air Painting Spring 2011 Issue included Linda’s featured article, “Passport & Palette, Painting En Plein Air Around the World”. She was also published in The Artist’s Magazine’s May and July/August Issues where she wrote two business articles. She continues to write for The Artist’s Magazine with articles scheduled to be published in 2012 publications.  In addition to this writing, Linda is an experienced blogger (both video and written blogs).  Her topics cover business skills and art skills tips, techniques and how tos.

Linda has entered numerous competitions in the past. Most recently she entered an area art show where two of her paintings were juried in and received two awards, each one receiving recognition.

Linda travels to exciting places to paint. Recently she has returned from New Zealand; Taos, New Mexico; Sedona, Arizona; and New Brunswick, Canada to name a few. She is so thankful to be living the artist’s life and her enthusiasm is passed on to her students who quickly get bitten by the art bug.
