It's hard being creative in the middle of a Hurricane Recovery area. On September 28th, Hurricane Helene slammed Asheville, NC. It had been raining days before Helene's visit. It resulted in over 30 inches of rainfall. Flooding took out roads, rerouted streams and rivers, and, with its high winds, snapped trees and telephone polls. Landslides also took their toll on roads and homes. 

We are lucky at Linda Fisler Fine Art and Tree House Studio Productions. We lost power, internet, and running water, but our creativity was used to find a way to flush toilets without running water. We had drinking water in the form of bottled water, which kept us hydrated and was used for cooking on our gas grill. I had distilled water on hand for washing dishes and pans. Conservation mode kicked in, but we didn't expect to go without running water for nearly 20 days. 

Creativity during this period is used for many other things and literally wears this old lady out!  I look forward to the days when we return to some form of normal. I am happy to report that my studio and the production studio are all good.  I see some retreat time and therapy as being in my studio in the coming weeks.
